Gabon, where dense rainforest meets the Atlantic Ocean, remains one of Central Africa’s best-kept secrets. Over four days, this tour takes you from the streets of Libreville to the pristine shores of Pongara National Park, and into the heart of Gabonese tradition.

We’ll explore the capital’s colonial heritage and modern landmarks, wandering through Mont Bouet Market, visiting the Stele of Freedom, and stepping inside Saint-Michel Church, a wooden masterpiece built in local tradition. As night falls, we’ll experience a Bwiti ceremony in a nearby village, a powerful glimpse into Gabon’s ancestral spirituality.

From there, the journey turns wild. A boat ride carries us to Pongara National Park, a landscape of nesting turtles, forest elephants, and sweeping mangroves. We’ll hike, kayak, and explore one of Equatorial Africa’s most pristine coastlines before returning to Libreville for an Okuyi mask dance.

Finally, we head north to Cap Estérias and the Mondah Forest, then on to Akanda National Park, where Gabon’s rich biodiversity is in full bloom.

This trip pairs perfectly with our Central African Republic Essentials Tour (1495) and São Tomé & Príncipe Tour (1445) for a deeper exploration of the region. Combine all three as our CAR, Gabon & São Tomé - Along the Equator Tour (4995) and enjoy greater savings.
