Chuuk Scuba Diving
The World War II era was a challenging period for the people of Chuuk. On February 17th and 18th, 1944, U.S. forces launched an assault on the Japanese-held islands within the lagoon, initially targeting air and communication infrastructure before methodically sinking numerous freighters. Approximately 30 years later, Kimiuo Aisek, the founder of Blue Lagoon and a member of the Diving Hall of Fame, uncovered the remarkable coral growth that had enveloped these wrecks, transforming them into underwater museums. Today, these Micronesia tour sites continue to captivate divers from around the world.
