Join YPT and embark on your first tour of the year by exploring Algeria, Africa's largest and least-visited country in North Africa. While Algeria is often compared to other French-speaking nations in the region, it remains far from being exposed to mass tourism like its neighbors Morocco and Tunisia.

Algeria is one of the most challenging countries in Africa to visit, primarily due to its complex tourist visa process. However, at YPT, we provide full visa support, simplifying the process and guaranteeing your visa for a hassle-free experience. We can arrange visa on arrival for our group members.

During your adventure with us, you'll explore Algeria's rich history, from the Roman Empire to contemporary Muslim movements, the French occupation, and the local resistance that led to Algeria's independence. If you haven’t seen the film Battle of Algiers, we highly recommend it. On the tour, we'll visit the Martyrs' Memorial, a landmark that rivals North Korea's War Museum.

Despite Algeria's vast size, we’ll cover a lot of ground. Highlights include the incredibly well-preserved ancient Roman ruins of Djemila, the majestic "City of Bridges" in Constantine, and the mysterious traditional villages of Ghardaia - the gateway to the Sahara. Each day will bring a variety of unique and unforgettable experiences.

Our Algeria tour can completed with our Oran City Tour Extension, taking place the day before the tour starts, and be combined with our Mauritania Iron Ore Train Tour. Make the most of your trip to this region of Africa by joining both tours!

Seeking refuge and isolation, the Ibadis established a self-sustaining way of life in this harsh desert environment.
